Elf knitting

I whipped up some cranberry apple crisp on Wednesday evening. I love this recipe and I like dried cranberries in it. It's pictured right before I popped it in the oven.
Now that Thanksgiving's over, it's time to go into Elf mode. I made two pair of bed socks for a couple of Ben's buddies, and have one and a half pair of fingerless mitts done for the girls going back to college tomorrow. Yes, it's almost time for my baby to go back. We've had a nice visit. He's putting up his tree right now because he won't be back until right before Christmas.
St. Brigid's on the back burner (no pun intended) until I get the mitts done. I've also got some cottage socks started for my MIL and SIL in Ohio. Those will be nice to work on when I have some time at work (LOL--not likely!).
Time to get back to laundry and knitting!!

The long drive

We've passed another milestone as parents--we took Ben to college over the weekend. There was a very nice ceremony welcoming in the Freshman class. The professors filed into the chapel in their caps and gowns. The parents and family members sat in the upper balconies with the students down below. It was quite a nice way to give importance to the special day for the kids. After that, we all went outside where we had a picnic lunch. It was lovely! The boys settled in and got their room together while we all sat back and watched. We had to say goodbye around 2:15 because the boys had to go to an event. It was quick and then it was over.
I knitted Ben a pair of socks and timed them--5 hours exactly for a pair, so that'll be a great project for the drives to the college. The Kori is blocked and is very interesting. I think it has to be worn with a neutral color. It's definitely a piece to stand on it's own! Now it's September and time to cast on for St. Brigid.

Sock Put socks

Finished my Sock Put socks for Ben's friend going into the Nat'l Guard. I had some camo yarn and a solid brown, so Baba's Bed Socks was the perfect choice. Love this pattern. I can knock out a pair in no time. Now I'm back to squares and have over 30 done--halfway there on the Vest Vault!
