WOW

Wiping out works in progress...I am making great strides on the Puffin Mantle and should finish over the weekend.

The Beaded Beret stopped because I ran out of the beads.  I have new beads and will take out the row and possibly mix the beads.  Must think about this one a bit.

The cotton sweater is coming along.  I am at the mind-numbing stockinette stitch body.  The Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK is lovely yarn in pale denim.

The orange project is an entrelac bowl (it was a short phase some years ago) like the one (that needs to be fulled) beside the snowman, one of three that have been in a basket for longer than I can remember.  I have a lace sweater that needs to be frogged and the yarn re-purposed, as well as the vest that needs armbands.    Single patterns are now organized and filed and books are easier to find, as I rearranged them.  Patterns for classes are pulled and ready to use.  Samples are all finished, documentations are turned in, and I can focus on other projects.  Projects include paintings, weaving, spinning, and wet and needle felting.  Making progress is good!

FOs!

I finished a couple of personal projects during the past week.  The Top-Down Trapeze Pullover by Knitting Pure & Simple, aka In the Pink and the Brynja Beret by Helene Magnusson.  The HiKoo Kenzie blocked nicely for the sweater and has lovely drape.  I chose three colors of Noro Silk Garden Solo for the beret.  With the textured yarn I went down a needle size for the ribbing and then to the larger needle for the body of the hat.  There was even a bit of the main color left.  I immediately  wore it when we went out to cut the Christmas tree and then wet blocked it overnight.  It is so nice and soft and warm.
I added length and tapering to the sleeves.

Pretty soft colors for winter.

WIPs and UFOs

Ahhh, the never ending projects on the needles.  One hat is ready for beads (I waited for a bead hook to arrive), Greta is slow but sure on small needles, and the vest is progressing nicely.  Tangled is so close!  I finally finished weaving the ends in  and Shwook is blocked.
I have made more progress since the photo.  The yarn is really nice.

Shwook is a great slouchy hat and most likely my new favorite hat!

Now that I have a beading hook I can finish the beaded beret.

The front band has the turning ridge so I can add...

...a lovely red for the facing.
Soon we will be headed back to 87714--Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.  I am excited to go on my first "official" trek.  I feel ready for the challenge of hiking at altitude.  My legs can go forever and the challenge is hiking at altitudes from Base Camp 6,696 feet above sea level to 9,003 feet on the Tooth of Time.

Ready to hike again.

The tin ceiling at the St. James Hotel in Cimarron.  Yes, those are bullet holes from the days of the wild west.
